How long your project will take depends on your project! Rush jobs can sometimes be accommodated, but please inquire first. In general, and without a rush service, printing takes 2 weeks after you approve your proofs. How long the design/editing phase takes depends, but it can be anywhere from a couple days to 2-4 weeks depending on how quickly you get back to us with edits, and whether your project is semi-custom (Collection) or fully custom. We usually respond to edits within 1-2 business days.
For fully custom, from-scratch orders, please allow at least 2 weeks for design time. Shop items can be accommodated on a shorter time frame (1-4 weeks), so feel free to ask. We can be more specific once we know more about your project.
For a basic list of what to order when, check out the stationery planning page.
8. WHAT PRINTING METHODS DO YOU OFFER? WHAT DO THEY MEAN?
Available printing methods are print-at-home, flat printing, embossing, and foil stamping.
Flat Printing, or else called digital printing or offset digital printing- we use double thick cotton papers i.e. 180-220 lbs card stocks. You are not limited in the number of colors used (and you don’t pay per color). With flat printing we can do things like print guest addresses on envelopes and print watercolor illustrations in all their multi-colored glory.
Embossing uses printing plates which are pressed into the paper, creating beautiful, textured invitations, with indentations where the design/text are printed. This handmade process lends itself to elegant but profound artworks and patterns on the papers.
Think metallics! Foil stamping is a similar process to embossing, but it allows for the use of metallics on your invitations. The colours are available in gold, copper, and rose gold.
Speaking of combining print methods, yes please do. We work with lots of couples who decide to have, say, shiny gold invitations with a blush pink RSVP card and flat printed envelopes. Go for it!
Some of Each?
we work with many couples who decide to have, say, gold foil invitations with an embossed blush pink reply card and flat printed envelopes. Go for it! Our Silky White Cotton and Cream Cotton papers are available with all printing methods, so your papers will match. However, matching ink colors across printing methods is tricky, so we recommend choosing complementing shades but not identical inks.
